Earth Maid’s Safe Start:
Rooted in Care.
Earth Maid was built on the belief that caring for a community can extend beyond providing a clean home.
As a locally owned residential cleaning business based in Okotoks, Alberta, we are committed to using our growth to create meaningful community impact throughout Okotoks, Foothills County and surrounding Southern Alberta communities.
Our community initiatives include direct assistance for people facing difficult circumstances, community-supported cleaning, partnerships with local organizations and an ongoing fundraiser supporting individuals affected by domestic violence.
Helping Survivors Start Again
Leaving domestic violence can mean rebuilding nearly every part of everyday life.
Safe housing, transportation, groceries, household necessities, clothing, childcare, pet expenses and other unexpected costs can create significant barriers for someone trying to establish independence and safety.
Earth Maid created an ongoing fundraiser to help address both sides of that need: direct assistance for individual survivors and support for organizations providing domestic violence services.
How the Fundraiser Works
Our 2026 campaign has an initial fundraising goal of $6,000.
Funds raised are divided:
1/3 — Direct Survivor Support
One-third of funds raised is allocated directly to an individual leaving or rebuilding after domestic violence.
The first recipient is currently navigating that transition. Identifying information and details about her circumstances will remain private for her safety and dignity.
Direct support can help with practical rebuilding expenses such as housing, transportation, groceries, household necessities, clothing, childcare, pet-related expenses and other essential needs.
Once a recipient has received support, future funds allocated to this portion can help another individual rebuilding after domestic violence.
2/3 — Domestic Violence Organizations
Two-thirds of funds raised is allocated to an organization providing services and resources for people affected by domestic violence.
These organizations may provide emergency shelter, outreach, counselling, advocacy, safety planning, education and other resources for individuals and families.
At our initial $6,000 goal, approximately $4,000 will be allocated to organizational support and $2,000 to direct survivor support.
The campaign may exceed its goal. If it does, the same 1/3 direct support and 2/3 organizational support division continues.
An Ongoing Community Initiative
This fundraiser is not intended to end after one person receives assistance.
Earth Maid’s goal is to operate the initiative through annual campaigns, allowing us to continue supporting survivors and community organizations year after year.
For example:
2026 Campaign
2027 Campaign
2028 Campaign
Funds allocated to organizational support will be distributed periodically in accordance with the recipient organization’s fundraising requirements.
As the initiative grows, we also plan to publicly report the amount raised and distributed so our community can see the impact their support is creating.
Privacy, Dignity and Transparency
Domestic violence is deeply personal, and safety comes before storytelling.
Earth Maid will not publicly share identifying information about individual recipients without appropriate consent. We believe people experiencing hardship deserve support without having to expose the most difficult parts of their lives in order to receive it.
Earth Maid also does not retain any portion of the fundraiser proceeds.
Campaign updates will provide information about funds raised and distributed while protecting the privacy of individual recipients.
Community Support Through Earth Maid
Our fundraiser is one part of Earth Maid’s broader commitment to community care.
As Earth Maid grows, our goal is to continue creating room for practical, dignity-focused support through community cleaning initiatives, local partnerships, charitable giving and other projects that help people regain comfort and stability in their homes.
For us, community impact is not separate from the business we are building.
It is part of why Earth Maid exists.
